Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 amโ€“9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (510) 570-2139. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 105 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese noodles in Berkeley.

Berkeley is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Berkeley follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I got the knife-cut noodle with beef and picked vegetables and it was wonderful!! Have not had noodles this good for a while in the bay. The noodles were chewy and the soup was aromatic and delicious. The staff members were also super nice and kind.

Donโ€™t really know how to rate this cuz I have never had hand pulled noodles before. I was directed to order via scanning a bar code so it wasnโ€™t easy to ask questions about what to order. The bone in chicken โ€œbig plateโ€ was no joke about how huge it was lol. Maybe it was a special? It was kinda greasy though and didnโ€™t have as much flavor as I was hoping. The noodles were good and chewy and large and flat. The marinated cucumbers were awesome tangy flavor and a fun shape. The sesame balls were awesome, as always of course. It came out super fast and if bulk amounts of heavy food were more your thing I think it would be great. Also they do not take Amex

It's a delicious freshly made wheat noodle place. Their soups are famous I ordered Dry noodle spicy oil with braised beef 4.5 stars. It had some baby bok choy and bean sprouts and bit of carrot "angel hair" Beef noodle soup 4.5 The calamari is terrible. The neat tasted old and "fishy". I do not recommend 1.5 stars Location nice. Small store with about 15 tables. Had to wait 30minutes

So excited that Ox9 Lanzhou Handpulled Noodle just opened in Berkeley! I used to have to go outside of Berkeley whenever I was craving good hand pulled noodles, so Iโ€™m really happy we finally have a spot like this here. I ordered the Beef noodle with pickles (their recommended dish), and it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a deep, rich flavor. The hand pulled noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy, and the beef was tender and well-seasoned. The portion size was generous and very satisfying. The restaurant itself feels clean and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. For a newly opened place, theyโ€™re already doing an amazing job. Definitely a great addition to Berkeley, and Iโ€™ll be coming back!
